Art Exhibits

We recently had a fair showing Chugoku materials and products, in the Municipal Gymnasium. There are other exhibits here and there in Sanin as well. The National Cultural Day holiday is on the 3rd of November and we will have the Do-gyoretsu again. If you haven't seen and heard it, don't miss it. It is a very interesting festival.

On this day of culture, which is really one of the great holidays of the year, every effort should be made to see some part of our national arts, crafts and customs. Going to the museums, arts and crafts centers that most of the cities have and perhaps a shrine or temple would be nice, if the weather is good.

I have often mentioned KATAZOME art, which I have studied. A Couple of my pictures have been seen by a few people before, but on November 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th, a couple friends of mine and I will have a handicraft exhibit at Imai Book store, on the 3rd floor. There, you will be able to see pottery, woodcraft, some weaving and almost all of my KATAZOME. I would be very happy for the pleasure of seeing you there. I will be there most of the time on the 3rd, 4th and 5th.

This will be a chance for you to see and understand this ancient art. Most of the ideas are something to discuss with your friends. There will be many people in Matsue on a couple of those days. If you are one of them, please visit our exhibit. Thanks. It is really getting cooler now and viewing the maple leaves when they turn into their lovely autumn tints and hues is one of the pleasures I look forward to every year. Now, we can see many chrysanthemums, too. They are very beautiful. Let's enjoy autumn and the National Cultural Holiday.
